Burnout Prevention Training: Creating an Engaged Workforce

The Growing Challenge of Burnout

In Australia alone

  • 81% of the workforce is struggling with stress and burnout.
  • 40% of employee resignations are burnout related.
  • Burnout-related absenteeism costs $14 billion annually.

Burnout is on the rise in Australia and has been linked to increased sick days, staff turnover, and decreased productivity. What are you doing to protect yourself and your staff?

Are you noticing any of these symptoms in yourself or your team?

  • Inability to think clearly and prioritise
  • Frequent sick days
  • Creative blocks
  • Missed deadlines
  • Lack of initiative
  • Decreased productivity despite being “busy”
  • Becoming withdrawn from the team
  • Reduced resiliency
  • Decreased engagement and NPS scores

If you or your team are experiencing two or more of these symptoms, burnout is a likely cause.

Understanding Burnout

Burnout happens when competent people crumble under the sustained pressure of a busy life. Everyone has a limited amount of energy to use each day, and if we don’t recharge, we burn out. Recharging effectively is incredibly challenging in a fast-paced, high-pressure world. There is always something else that needs doing.

40% of resignations are burnout related, however this may not always be due to workplace challenges. Frequently, team members are dealing with challenging situations outside of the workplace that impact their performance, often despite their best efforts. Our workshops are designed to identify the underlying issues and set participants up with the skills to more effectively navigate the inevitable pressures and challenges they face.

We provide comprehensive training for leaders, teams, and business owners

Leadership

Preventing burnout in leaders ensures they can effectively guide their teams, make sound decisions, and foster a positive workplace culture. Burnout prevention helps them maintain their energy and resilience in a challenging role.

Teams

Teams experiencing burnout face reduced productivity, creativity, and collaboration. Burnout prevention training helps team members better manage stress, improve communication, and maintain high performance levels.

Business Owners

CEOs and founders are highly susceptible to burnout due to the immensity of the responsibility they carry. They are used to sacrificing personally for the wellbeing of their company. Preventing burnout enables them to maintain their energy and drive.

Any questions?

I’m really busy at the moment, how long can I put off burnout prevention work?

I understand what it’s like to be busy, and I’m not here to force anyone to do anything they don’t have time to do. However, a word of caution: the #1 mistake burnout sufferers make is not getting help soon enough. It’s easy to keep putting yourself off, but speaking from personal experience, at some point your body will force you to stop – and the road to recovery is rough.

My advice? Start with small things as soon as possible – tiny adjustments are sometimes all it takes to make a huge difference.

I’m already burned out, can you help?

Absolutely. All the advice designed to prevent burnout will apply to you as well if you have already hit burnout – you just have reduced capacity which means you’ll need to take it slower and be even gentler with yourself. Learning to prioritise yourself after years of sacrifice is a challenging thing, so whether you’ve already hit burnout, or you just feel like you’re headed that way, my 8 week burnout program is launching soon. I also work with a few clients 1-1 (contact me here), or you can access any of the free resources on this page to get you started.

I’d prefer to work with you 1-1, is that an option?

I work one-on-one with a handful of clients. Contact me for my availability.

Do you teach workshops or present to organisations?

Yes, I have taught burnout prevention workshops around the world. Email me at annika[at]myjoyous.life to enquire or contact me here.
